The Association of African Students in Estonia(AASE), a student body has donated items worth hundreds of euros to the needy.
As part of its schedule activities for AASE’s summer unwinds, the Association on Saturday, 5th September visited the less privileged in Tallinn, Eastonia during which various items including food were donated to the less privileged.
In his speech, the President of AASE Mr. Daniel Ita while presenting the items acknowledged the good work of the home keepers, stressing the need to give-back to the society.
Daniel said the need to carter for the less privileged in the society is sacrosanct and pledged a routine visit to the home.
Accordingly AASE members volunteered to serve meals to the indigence, engaged the church in dialogue about the cultural aspects of the Association.
The manager of the home while receiving the items expressed her appreciation over the AASE’s kind gestures.
In her remark, she revealed that the visit by the association was ordained as it is coming the same time the world is celebrating Mother Theresa’s anniversary.
Highlights of the day included a soccer competition among the African Association captioned ’Soccer Splash 2020’, where Team ‘C’ won the first prize followed by Team ‘E’ and ‘A’ emerging second, third positions respectively.
The global pandemic has made it important to reach-out to the hopeless in the bid to offer solution and maintain unity among members of society.
In this regard AASE has urged others groups to participate in similarly initiative of helping and supporting the needy.
AASE is a recognized body by the Estonian government comprising of all Africans schooling in Estonia.
